Kalani out-scored Kahuku 25-9 in the third quarter en route to a 64-37.

victory in an opening round game of the Hawaiian Airlines HHSAA Division I Girls Basketball Championship, Tuesday, at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Falcons (13-3) led 23-15 at the half and extended their lead to 24 entering the final period.

Courtney Gaddis led Kalani with 14 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line. Chloe Martin chipped in with 12 points for the Falcons, who advance to the quarterfinals where they will face second-seeded Konawaena on Wednesday.

Taeja Afalava had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Raiders (6-11).
